WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT YOUR JOB?

I love being creative and taking beautiful pictures that I hope my clients will love and treasure.

WHAT IS THE MOST MEMORABLE WEDDING YOU HAVE EVER WORKED ON, & WHAT MADE IT SO SPECIAL?

This one is easy, because the most memorable wedding for me was captured at Lusty Glaze in Cornwall. It’s an incredible beach location and because it was such a beautiful day with a totally relaxed chilled vibe, everyone, including the couple were having an amazing time. It was one of those ‘unicorn weddings’ where everything was perfect.

IF YOU COULD BE A PART OF A CELEBRITY WEDDING, WHO WOULD IT BE & WHY?

I would love to have captured the wedding of someone from back in the days of old Hollywood. The look and styling back then was so glamorous and sophisticated. Someone like Grace Kelly or Marilyn Monroe would have been incredible.

WHAT UNUSUAL OR UNIQUE REQUESTS HAVE YOU RECEIVED FROM COUPLES, AND HOW DID YOU MAKE THEM HAPPEN?

There was one wedding where, after the ceremony, the couple, followed by their guests wanted to process through the streets of a quaint Derbyshire town and onwards to their wedding reception location. It was such a spontaneous decision and utterly fab because the local villagers came out to congratulate them en route. It was something I had never witnessed before but it was so special and memorable.

WHICH WEDDING TREND ARE YOU ABSOLUTELY LOVING RIGHT NOW, & WHY DO YOU THINK IT IS SO POPULAR?

This is one for the guys, because I am loving the shift from boring blue suits to more alternative colour palettes such as pinks, neutrals, greens, greys, and then switching it up with mixing and matching ties, waistcoats etc.

However I am still a sucker for a black tux (which is timeless) and also black bridesmaids dresses which look amazing!

TOP TIP

I am such a stickler for being organised, so I guess timings and ensuring that the day is planned in advance is key for me. Planning in advance avoids stress on the day for the couple as well as myself. It avoids the difficult conversations after the wedding as to why certain shots weren’t taken because we ran out of time, or were never requested. So spending time with your photographer and venue to ensure timings are correct is crucial to the smooth running of your day. Also considering the time of year you are getting married and knowing what the weather will be doing. Knowing that guests won’t want to be outside in the colder months and considering how much daylight you will have (especially in the Winter) is really important. Getting married at 3pm in December really won’t help you get those beautiful natural light photographs you may be dreaming of.
