WHAT DO OUR CUSTOMERS SAY?
I have no words about how amazing this venue is. Joanne and her team are just the best. Venue beautiful! Team amazing! No question was a silly question and no job was too big or small. Our day was amazing, everything ran smoothly. Food was DELICIOUS! Every single person was shocked by how amazing their food was and all said it was the best wedding meal they ever had. The on-site accommodation was amazing! It does look a little pricey when reading the documents but once you see what you get it’s all worth while. You’re not getting a little bog standard premier inn room you are getting a full blown suite/mini apartment. They are beautiful, beds are so so comfy. All our friends and family were so pleased with their rooms and didn’t expect what they got and said no where would ever live up to their expectation at a wedding again. If you’re getting married I’d highly recommend this venue and the team! Jo, once again thank you for everything you have done for us over the last few years. We appreciate everything you and your team have done!
JACKIE & DANIEL - 2023
From the second we saw The Pumping House, we knew that it would be the place where we tied the knot. Everything just felt ‘right’: the loving restoration that still retained the character of the building; the industrial feel that still had heritage; the versatility of the space that meant it would be the perfect place for guests to enjoy, even if we were caught out by April Showers; and, above all, the team were welcoming, lovely, and helpful, straight from the off! Jo was our wedding co-ordinator and we cannot recommend, praise, and thank her enough. Jo took absolutely everything in her stride, was supportive and calm in equal measure, and made us feel like nothing was too much to ask. I'd recommend The Pumping House in a heartbeat. From the gorgeous setting of Sherwood Forest, and the abundant space to explore inside; to the incredible food offering, life-saving preferred supplier list, and the team that really is second-to-none: it is the place where dreams are made, and we feel so lucky to have started our ‘forever’ there.
HATTIE & ROSS - 2023
We had our wedding at The Pumping House last weekend, and it was everything we could have asked for. From the first moment we saw the venue, we knew it was the right place for us to get married. The venue has so many different quirks, which really get your guests interested and talking, and gives you every opportunity to put your own stamp on things. It's not all DIY though, and the service laid on by the team is fantastic. The building itself is also full of character, and would look incredible even without adding extra decoration. We lost count of the number of times our guests commented on how much they loved the venue. As a couple of foodies, we were most interested in the options for food on the day, which is plentiful and varied by the in-house catering team. The pricing of the food is reasonable also. We went for the tapas menu option, and would highly recommend this to anyone looking for something slightly different from the norm. The sharing plates are a really sociable way to enjoy a meal and got everybody talking. The quality of the food was excellent, and the quantity was plentiful also. We just wish we could have eaten more! One real plus for us with an October date was that everything can be done quite easily indoors. We had some rain on the day, but it didn't detract from the occasion at all. There is a very nice outdoor area which can be used for photos, evening food, reception drinks, etc, but this area is definitely a bonus rather than something that's really necessary. Finally, a big shout-out to Lian and the whole team, who were very helpful both in the lead-up to the day, and on the day itself, to help make it a day we won't forget! We can't thank them enough.
